THE CASINO
Many people think that the casino in Singapore is great news. They think that it will help to attract more tourists and increase Singapore's popularity, earning more money in the process. But I think that there really isn't a need to have that casino at all! Yeah, more tourists will come to Singapore. But so what? By opening that casino, Singapore is practically encouraging gamblers to gamble more and losing everything they have in the end. So, if you ask me, Singapore is only inviting trouble by building that casino.

Now the Singapore Casino has just opened,many tourists from other countries came to gamble. The government had spent so much money on that casino. They also think if they want to set a grand casino in Sentosa.

I read a article on " Qatar, No Ban On Tuna Trade ". I likes to eat Tuna fish and most people does. But, the population of the Tunas have been decreasing due to their delicious meat. Some countries like Australia, Japan and Canada make a lot my $$$ from selling these fishes. Conservationists wanted governments to add more creatures to the list of those protected by CITES( an agreement among countries that controls how wild animals and plants are traded ), including the Atlantic Bluefin Tuna and some other wildlife sea creatures. But those countries who have been selling them for $$$ refused to agree to a ban.

I agree to some wildlife protectors for their actions to protect wildlifes, but I do not agree those countries which refused to agree to a ban. I do understands why they do not agree because they have to earn for their living. But, due to their selfishness, we might not have any chances to save the Tuna from extinct. I wish that people can reduce the times of eating Tuna and catching them.

The Casino

Recently, the Singapore's very first casino has opened after some time of the government deciding whether to build it or not. They could earn money and more tourists and more reputation but there's still the problem of problem gambling. Loansharking too. So to fix this, the government puts a $100 levy (I think) for any Singaporeans or PRs who want to gamble there. They also have put in place a thing that you can sigh and you won't be able to enter the casino. But the government still is afraid. This could cause some people to gamble more. Interestingly, though, there has been a rise in calls for the Problem Gambling centre and more submissions for people to ban themselves. More loansharks have been caught too. Interesting, really. One would think more people would start to gamble but the number of Singaporeans there isn't really high. Amazing.

The article which gave me information and I like is MASOT PARADE. It taught me about the mascots of Singapore.The mascots which I had not heard is Captain Green,Teamy the bee and Durian boy. I learnt more about the mascots' qualities and I found them interesting.I hope that Singapore would create more creative,fascinating and symbolic mascots to symbolises Singapore.

Newly opened casino is what I am going to talk about.As many adults find it wonderful to have a casino,I do not share the feeling. I feel that there is NO need to have a casino in Singapore.Well, the government built it thinking that it would attract tourists to Singapore and that would help build its economic level.But did they think that it would affect a Singaporean's income if he gambles away his salary? I hope that the government would think over this matter and make a sensible decision. I hope that the government would make more rules and regulations that stops an average person from entering the casino so that the everything is order.

I must have said this a lot but really. The impact of humanity is big. Sometimes its good but most of the times, its bad. Tourism is good but (notice the but) it can destroy or create. Create money, yes. Destroy places of interest, yes. Creating money without destroying something? Unheard of. What's Up shows some of the places of interests, some very ancient that are being destroyed by the increasing number of tourists visiting them . Stonehedge is now becoming a place crammed with tourists and you can smell smoke and rumble as cars drive along the 2 highways next to it. Macchu Picchu is a place littered everywhere. Apparently, its too weak to withstand the 2500 tourists visiting it everyday. Now, without the What's Up article I can say plenty more examples but I wouldn't as you would think I would be ranting. But seriously, a question from Mr. Bunny and Mr. Zaki to some specific people, what the fuzzy bunnies are you doing?

Recently the volcanic ashes coming from the Iceland volcano 'Eyjafjallajokull' (huff..huff..) are disrupting flights in Europe. Many people are trapped in Singapore. It could have a good point-more tourists.The tourists reluctantly have to prolong their trip here and they have to go out and spend money.(obviously they don't want to be bored to death in the hotel..) Their spending more money means more money we get. And that leads to higher pay for working people. That means more money saved.(HUFF......HUFF) And the cycle continues.... So MAYBE this 'volcanic ash in the air thing' is good for us. Of course,I can always talk about the negative things but that would take you an hour to read.But I'm also NOT saying that this should continue.The sooner things settle the better,agree?

The first casino in Singapore opened lately and attracted many people.Many people agreed to idea of a casino.However,for me,i totally disagree about it as in Sigapore,i could say that a lot of people owe bank money because of gambling.If they could not afford to pay the bank,they loan from loan sharks and families broke out and more unfortunate events one by one happened.If one moreway of gambling is introduced,WHat would be the outcome then?

Im reviewing about the climate change in the Pilippines. The climate has been really hot in the philippines. The highest temperature that reached the Philippines yet is 36.8 degrees celcius. It could get higher. It causes the loss of  water and the humid will be higher. So the life in the Philippines is pretty difficult, as some people chose to soak themselves in cold water and causes their water bills to be more expensive. The salaries of the people who work in the Philippines are low so it will be difficult for them to pay for their bills. I wish the hot climate would change so that my fellow Filipinos would have an easier life.

Singapore's First Casino has just opened. Many people like the fact that they built a casino, but im not part of  the 'many'. I'm confused on why they built a casino. Didn't they know that it could destroy the life of many in hours as they could get addicted to it. The people who gets addicted to it will be weighed with loans and they couldn't pay it in time and the loan could get larger and larger and soon it will destroy the person's life and especially his family's life. Well, it's up to them if they want to destroy their lives.

I always wanted to go on a trip to a very beautiful places but after I read the article, I think I better not be going. It is about What happens when tourist attractons attract too many tourists. Many famous places such as Wadi Rum Jordan, Yangshuo China, Tulum Mexico, Timbuktu Mali, Bay of fires Australia, Machu Picchu Peru, Stonehenge Britain and Jaisalmer India have been affected by the tourist's visits.  These visits damaged the environment of the places and the waters and airs are polluted too. Although I can not stop those tourists to visit the places but I do wish they can try their best to protect the enviroment, at least don't damage the enviroments.

It is about the mascot parade, after reading the article, i learnt more about the singapore icons. Such as the little durian star,captain green and teamy the bee, which i did not even knew that they exist. I also did not know that water wally would change its colour when the water is polluted and that it loves kayaking and other water sports.

The casino near Sentosa had opened on Sunday, 14 Feb 2010. Different peoples have different opinions about it, I disagree with it as it might get people addicted to it and do not care about their family anymore. Then,children might lose their own parents and home. Many could also lose their money and propety at just that few seconds.
However, at the other view,Singapore is trying to make money by opening the casino. The casino can attracts tourists to come to Singapore and spent their money.By opening the casino, it can also provide jobs.( Even after I had read the advantages,I still disagree with it. ) So, is it a right to opened a casino?

The Singapore's first casino has been operating since April this year. Is it really a good idea to have a casino? People can be addicted to gambling, lose their property in a split second and it can attract more loan sharks activities going on.That can lead to several serious offence. Now looking in a different point of view,there are several advantages in building a casino in Singapore, it can attract more tourists to visit Singapore, increase our populations and knows more about Singapore. Meanwhile, it can provide more jobs for the Citizens.It  creates more jobs opportunities and shows the progressive developing status of Singapore.After looking at these advantages and disadvantages in building a casino,it is making me confuse...I could not conclude if it is a good idea to build a casino.So before entering the casino think in different perspectives and make the decision.Whatever consequences it is, there are all your own choice.

Singapore is a small country with a population of about 3 millons Singaporeans and about 1.4 millons make up of permanent residents and foreign workers.


With the foreign workers,they help to increase our workforce. And those talented ones will make Singapore more competitive and bring in more drive to us .However, some have communicate problems between Singaporeans. They also create social problems .Such as, crime and many more.The number of crimes in Singapore ,of course, will increases. For example, robbing, littering ,etc. There is a case about a Vietnamese couple pickpocketing a shopper's mobile phone with him knowing. Parhaps this is normal as most issues have its bad points about itself.

The Casino

 The president of Singapore banded casinos before the IR came to Singapore. Now Singapore allows casinos as it will bring fame to Singapore. Like attracting tourists to eat in Singapore, to shop in Singapore, to stay in our hotels. They thought it was a good idea. But now many Singaporens enter the casino with heavy pockets and come out of it empty handed. Think, will $100 stop Singaporens from going into the casino. It is a good idea now. There was an article in the Straits Times that a man spent all his and his wife's savings all in the casino and came back empty handed. About $960,000 down the drain. Is it a good idea after all?

China's government are angry as Obama invites Dalai Lama to his home,the 'White House'.Dalai lama,is the spiritual leader to many Tibetians and is greatly respected all over the world.China was not really fond of him as china ruled Tibet and was also not impressed with how he has been pushing for freedom.SO what?Because of this Barack Obama cannot invite him over to his home?The china officials are taking this as an insult to their country.What?WE are living in the twentieth century not any stupid age where we talk abou such minor matters.Why get angry?Inviting someone remarkable over for a chat also cannot?US officials had insisted that they were not talking about political matters.Why bother?US never do anything wrong right?

Recently i am reading a book,'How fortunate i am' This book tells and shows about the children living in a poor country. I cried for a few time. It is very miserable.For the children, working is a usual thing and going to school is not.The children in Africa are fored to work in a cacao farm and they,of course, forced not to go to school. In the article, it said the children will severly punished when they did a very small mistake but in the book, it tells how they are punished.Imagine that 9 year old girls work utill 5a.m. to 2a.m., carrying extrenely heavy buckets of water for 48km. you know there is no hope to them even a word,'hope'-it shows on the chlidren's face. Altough the government trying to prevent the children's working and give opportunity to go to school,it useless- the farmers buy the children illegally and offer bribe to policemen.

i feel iam extremely fortunate girl that i can study in school, eat 3 meals a day(children in poor country eat the remain and trash food in the rubbish bin.) and free.When i grew up one of my dream is to help less fortunate or poor children in poor country.

People are always saying we can't judge a book by its cover right? Well, if that's the way it is for humans, why can't it be for animals? I believe that animals have a reason for a way they do things too. If they attack someone, they're probably feeling threatened. I think wolves are really interesting creatures and that people should try and make more of an effort to understand them.

Look at wolves.We see them as blood thirsty cruel animals but in real they are just adorable animals.we see them as killers because of the small amount of humans that they have killed and assume that they are dangerous.After reading this article I have understood that wolves are harmless unless in special occasions.those two people are very brave so as to help everybody become aware that wolves are not a danger to humans by living with them.wolves should be not shoved aside or killed by humans they should have every right to be a part of this world and they have my vote!

Hey!What is going to happen to our land of beautiful wonders?What is going to happen to our beautiful islands with crystal clear sea water?What is going to happen to our places that are extraordinarily rich in culture?Topple?Crash?Explode?Destroyed?Polluted?Ruined?Nah!None of that but it is still serious.Curious and adventurous tourists had been going to our few beautiful places to destroy the natural and peacefulness of the places.Like the bays of fire,australia,was once a sacred place and a quiet little beach.But what happened?It had been publicized and now the cool beaches were crammed with tourists .Locals were exceptionally unhappy with this as they thought that the bays of fire was a sacred place but not a noisy tourist attraction.There are also a filthy lot of examples but I would not say them all.See what men is doing to our good old nature?I wish i could just shout to the world"LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!"But too bad,our curiosity is beyond words and hence,lets just stick to our own lives.

Chocolate is no fun in some countries
 After I had read finished this article,i thought  that i am lucky and fortunate to born in Singapore because, the children (some are bought illegally) in part of Africa  are being force to work on cocoa farm instead of being allowed to go to school and lead a normal life. Another problem is that some families are so poor that the children also need to earn income.
I think that we should appreciate what we have and stop complaining. We have so many things that the children in some countries that don't have!

This artical is about wolfs.It was said that a woman had been killed by a wolf which is unusual as wolfs don't really kill human.A nature photographer,Jim Dutcher,wanted to film a documentary and allow a better understanding of grey wolfs in1990.It was suppose to be a job at first for him and only plan to stick with wolfs for two year but he eanded up felling in love with the pack of wolf he was with.He even named the pack the sawtooth pack.He and his wife also run an organisation called Living with wolf.Truthfully,the pack was not a wild pack but was made by him and his team.Reason why Mr Dutcher did not use a wild pack is because he could not trust them or if he could,wolf will loose fear of human and strayed into human territory.The leader of the pack is Katmots and his mate is Chemukh.Matsi is the second in command and Lakota is the lowest ranking wolf.Lakota always have to eat last.Dutcher found out that Lakota always brightens the pack up.Dutcher and his wife found out something unusual too:wolfs eat one species of flowers called the shooting star.Wolf way of greeting their leader is that they will lay their heads down and lick their leader face.One day,something amazing happen:the wolfs started to greet Dutcher and his wife which meant they were included in their pack.Dutcher hopes that one day people will respect wolfs.

One reason why I like this artical is because it is heart warming.

For me I am half addicted to games.I get the half where I play games from my big brother one of my cousin,18.I was not addicted to the games because I use to play a lot with my big sister,cousin, like filming.Don't ask me if you don't understand.Step one to overcome addiction to games is we can just try to play lesser computer games slowly.Next we can try to stop playing computer for a few days and take it as if that week is examination week
We can film show,create games,play board games or watch movie with family.

Game addiction is a big thing. You'll know you're addicted when you stop going to the toilet or skip meals or stop sleeping. I have experienced all of them. Yes, I was a game addict until my father bought me a book. I was so absorbed in it that I completely forgot about my computer and that I didn't even notice that he got me a laptop all for me. Seriously. Now back to the topic, people love playing games. However, more teens are playing computer games. Adults can be addicted too. But the thing about this is that it has grown on us and you cannot yank it out of someones life. That makes the victim crave more and lose focus in life and instead of playing other games, that person waits patiently ,standing rooted to the spot. Now here is a solution: instead of removing it, find another thing that overcomes the thing he is addicted to. For example, a 16-year old teen is addicted to Dota. Instead of removing it, introduce another game or sport or hobby into his/her life. Maybe paintball, go-kart recing, soccer, reading, hanging out with friends or basketball. Another way to wean the victim off the computer is to limit his/her computer time. This method may not give desirable results or failure or effiency but it is worth a try. Apparently, there is an application for computers that allows another computher(with complete authorization) to be limited like.....For example, one computer's time limit is 2 hours of internet usage. Once 2 hours are up, the app shuts down the computer and gives you a notice on how to start the computer. When it starts up, the network connections are all locked; requiring the locker's password and the netork password. But some people gave bad reviews on it and have shown a way to hack it.
Overall, I hope anyone who has a game addiction could benefit from this. Cheers,Zaki.

              -keep a strict schedule

Let me tell you a real story of my cousin's addiction to games(psp).'Hey!'This was the twentieth time i called him.'HEY GET THAT STUPID GAME OUT OF HERE!LETS PLAY SOCCER!!!@@##$$%^&*'This was my last resort.He gave me a bored look and say'ah,ah'I was fed up.He has been cooping up in a warm cozy bed,staring intently at his game.He had this crazy addiction for his game but i solved it,easily and quickly.Mine had a temporary effect,if you followed my steps.

First,i snatched his psp away.Second,we were running like heck across the blocks,my cousin hot on my heels.Third,(you need a few partners)i passed the psp to my waiting cousins(other cousins) and sprinted in another direction.This came in a cycle round and round till all of us were tired.'So you want to play soccer?'I asked him,panting hard."whatever......'my cousin answer as he headed towards the ball.If this do not work on your friend,there is a backup plan,find out from me in person if you are interested.=D

  You can go outside to play with your friends or get yourself occupied with something more better than switching on your computer and start playing games. Another way is to play educational games so that you can learn something more useful rather than playing something that you cannot learn anything. The third way is to think about something else so that you can stop thinking about it and thus you wont have the urge of playing computer games.
